Tickets for the 2016 Grand Tour Ball

This page is retained for Historical Interest. It was a wonderful event, much enjoyed by the attendees.

NEWS:

The dance list for our 2016 Grand Tour Ball is now available.

Important Information: All of the tickets for our 2016 Grand Tour Ball have now either been reserved or sold. Any new requests for tickets will be placed in a waiting list, and tickets will be reallocated if they are returned to us. We apologise for any disappointment this will cause. For further information, please contact us at tickets@hrd.org.uk. We are collecting a waiting list, so if you are hoping for a ticket do let us know. It's possible that further tickets will become available.

An optional workshop for the Ball has been organised in the village of Twyford in Hampshire on Saturday 8th October.

The Hampshire Regency Dancers are proud to present their
2016 Grand Tour Ball.

  • Saturday 22nd October 2016, in the historic splendour of The Guildhall, Salisbury, from 6:30pm to 11:30pm.

  • Tickets cost 65 per person, and are available to experienced dancers*.

  • Tickets include an optional workshop, which will be held at 1:30pm at the same venue.

  • Guests will dance to the music of Green Ginger, with dances called by Historical Dance Teacher Diana Campbell Jewitt.

  • The ticket includes a two course dinner and a welcome refreshment on arrival.

  • Guests are encouraged to wear costumes suitable to the period, circa 1790 to 1820.

Our Balls are historically informed, but adapted for the enjoyment and convenience of modern Regency Dancing enthusiasts. If you'd like to attend, please complete the form below. Payments can be made by Paypal, cheque, or bank transfer; the payment details will be sent by email when your form is processed. You'll receive confirmation by email when your payment has been received, Dance Cards are to be collected at the event.

(*) The Ball is aimed at experienced dancers, but guests of all abilities are welcome. The caller will be expecting a reasonable level of ability from the dancers, so inexperienced dancers might struggle. It could be necessary for inexperienced dancers to sit out for some of the dances. If you'd like to gain experience of period dancing in advance of the Ball, you'll be welcome to attend our practice sessions in the Winchester area; if you'd like assistance in finding an alternative group nearer to you, contact us and we'll help you to find one. The workshop on the day of the Ball will be used to walk through the dances, attendance is optional, but strongly encouraged.

An optional costumed visit will be made to Breamore House on Sunday 23rd October. This magnificent Elizabethan house was one of the filming locations for the 2005 Pride and Prejudice film. The Group entry rate is 8 per person, and we'll find a suitable pub for lunch. Further details for the Sunday event will be distributed nearer the time; it is likely that you'll need to arrange your own transport to and from Breamore (approximately 9 miles south of Salisbury), and the 12.00 lunch venue (The Bat & Ball Inn at Breamore).

If you'd like to book a hotel in Salisbury or the surrounding area, a range of options are available.

If you have any questions, please contact us at tickets@hrd.org.uk.
